Most bed and breakfast lodging facilities are located in residential buildings that have been renovated to accommodate guests. Most of them have bedrooms that appear much like those in ordinary homes, and the breakfasts are usually homemade by the owners of the facility. Bed and breakfast lodging is usually the equivalent of home away from home. Bed and breakfast facilities are usually run by local people who know the area well so they can help the guests learn about the local activities and customs. They will know about the current events in the area and will be able to guide their guests to events they might miss otherwise. The local owners can probably show their guests how to get around cheaper and more speedily than the concierge at a big hotel. The owners of a bed and breakfast will be able to guide their guests to the best facilities that are not always accessible to the average tourist. The bed and breakfast lodgings in Arizona will be close to great golf courses that are sunny most of the year. The bed and breakfast lodgings also have prices that are more reasonable than many of the hotels in the area. They usually have a more informal atmosphere where the guests eat around a dining room table rather than in a coffee shop. Many of the operators of these facilities have organized associations to provide for reservations for the facilities around the world. Many people who stay in bed and breakfast facilities return to those facilities or look for similar lodging in other parts of the world.
